Women Build Clinics Announced

The exciting November 3rd launch of the 2013 Women Build is in the books! Women from all over the south suburbs came out in droves to participate in what will be our 25th anniversary as an affiliate. Now we are ready to roll up our sleeves and take the next step to provide a safe, decent and affordable home to a partner family in need. We have released the four (4) dates in February where women will participate and receive instruction at the Lowe’s Clinics held at their Orland Park, Illinois store.

Clinics scheduled for the month of February, 2013 include:
02/09/13 – How to Use Hand and Power Tools
02/16/13 – How to install exterior siding
02/23/13 – How to Install Insulation and Drywall
03/02/13 – How to Finish Interior with paint and trim

Clinics will start at 1:00pm and end at 3:00pm.

Participants should check in at the Pro Services Department.

As we prepare to celebrate 25 years, our affiliate is committed to raising $25,000 in Women Build co-sponsorships toward our project. The actual rehab of the Lansing, Illinois home will take place between the months of March and May, 2013 but your donation helps us now.

Volunteers, sponsors and donations are needed. Volunteers can be individual women or teams. We invite civic groups and organization, company teams, groups of friends or family members to participate. There are a variety of sponsorship options associated with the WOMEN BUILD which determines the number of women allowed on the site per day and how many days. Please refer to the Sponsorship Level document for more information.
