On September 28, representatives from Sprite presented Village officials and Neighborhood Revitalization Program partner Habitat for Humanity with a check for $15,000 towards new playground equipment at Illinois Park. This is the second contribution from Sprite towards upgrades to parks in town over the last five months. In May, Sprite contributed $6,000 to improvements at Somonauk Park — in the southern section of town. Sprite’s effort to upgrade area parks is part of the company’s Sprite Spark Parks for Schools initiative, which aims to help provide “more clean, safe outdoor spaces for kids to hang out.”
